Aerospace Consulting - Representation - Project Management

India is one of the fastest growing aerospace markets in the world. This is primarily due to the growing commercial aviation market, increase in its defense expenditure, high levels of technical expertise and knowledge, and a rising base of technological expertise. The rapid growth of the the Indian aerospace industry has not only attracted several major global aerospace organisations to India but has also incentivised domestic aerospace players to increase and deepen operations. Bangalore has become a major center for the Indian aerospace industry with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Indian Space Research Organization and the National Aerospace Laboratories. India is rapidly building capabilities to emerge as a preferred destination for manufacturing of aerospace components. India has skills and competencies in areas such as engineering and production, and these capabilities have been recognized and harnessed by overseas companies outsourcing manufacturing work to India. All the 3 segments of the Indian aerospace industry (Civil Aviation, Defense Aviation, and Space) are showing a significant level of growth.

Defense Aviation: India, believed to be the worlds largest importer of weaponry, is expected to spend $150 billion over the next decade towards purchase of defense aviation equipment. It is expected that defense spending will substantially increase as the nations robust economy continues to grow. India has embarked on major defense acquisition and development programs comprising Medium Multi Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA), Multirole Transport Aircraft (MTA), Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA), Light Utlity Helicopters (LUH), and Medium Lift Helicopters (MLH). Furthermore, this segment is expected to witness more than double the number of aircraft and helicopters to be procured over the next decade. As a support service to the defense aviation industry, the opportunity to provide Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) activities and Systems Upgradation Services is projected to grow immensely over the next decade. Growing at 10%, the Indian MRO segment is estimated to reach $2.6 billion by 2020. Establishing MRO facilities in India shall enable operators to achieve faster turnaround times and savings in operating costs.

Civil Aviation: With private airlines accounting for over 75% of the domestic aviation market, the Indian civil aviation industry is one of the fastest growing aviation industries in the world. Although globally, the aviation industry has till recently been driven by technology developed for military purposes, but off late, civil aviation requirements are driving dedicated technology development. The Indian civil aviation industry’s rapid growth is driving modernization of airports, communications, radars, flight simulators, and facilities for MRO of aircraft and sub systems.

Space: Established in 1969, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has emerged into one of the “Big three” Asian space agencies, alongside China’s CNSA and Japan’s JAXA, and is a significant partner in several international space projects. India is ranked in the top 5 nations globally, in terms of space budget and technological capabilities. Its investment in its space industry is expected to increase by an average of 14.8% annually and is expected to reach Rs. 20,000 crore by 2020.

The Indian aerospace industry is supported by qualified personnel, availability of parts and components, robust manufacturing expertise, production systems, and a supportive R&D environment. However, on the other hand, the aerospace manufacturing sector in India is plagued by high capital costs, low volumes, long gestation period of projects, quality issues, complex certification and approval procedures, and fragmentation of the aerospace sector. Hence, in spite of wanting to produce aviation equipment domestically for its civilian and defense market with the help of all these available strengths, the Government of India recognizes that it still needs technological and managerial expertise from foreign OEM’s that will be crucial to the successful development of its civilian and defense aviation industry. Over the years through our successful business operations, and our credibility and competence in the marketplace, we at Zorya Systems and Technologies have attracted a select and consolidated list of overseas clients each of whom have established and maintained worldwide leading positions in the aerospace industry. With the help of our consulting and exclusive representative service, our international clients have been able to secure several aerospace contracts with the Government of India as well as with certain domestic private enterprises. As their exclusive representative we have undertaken and successfully completed various aerospace projects involving direct purchases and imports, transfer of technology, joint ventures, and foreign direct investments (FDI’s).

Our recent successful projects, on behalf of our clients, have been in the following areas of aerospace:
01. Military Flight Simulators
02. Commercial Flight Simulators
03. Military Aircraft Systems Upgradation
04. Military Helicopter Systems Upgradation
05. Radar Systems
